VM Desktop Client Installation / Omnissa Horizon Client
Type: Walkthrough

Steps:

1. Go to https://viewportal.lakelandcollege.edu/
2. Click Install VMware Horizon Client or the desktop client option, not the web browser client.
3. On the Omnissa downloads page, click View Download Components | Drivers & Tools for Omnissa Horizon Clients.
4. Choose the Horizon Client download that matches your device operating system, then click Go to Downloads.
5. Click Download Now for the client installer.
6. Open the downloaded installer file.
7. Click Agree & Install to begin the installation.
8. If prompted, restart your computer by clicking Restart Now, or restart later and complete the reboot before launching the client.
9. Open the Omnissa Horizon Client desktop shortcut.
10. Click Add Server.
11. In the server field, enter viewportal.lakelandcollege.edu, then click Connect.
12. Enter your Lake Land username and password, then sign in.
13. Double-click the VM lab or desktop you want to use. The available list may vary by user.

Observe:

• If the Horizon Client installs, opens, connects to viewportal.lakelandcollege.edu, and displays the available VM labs → success
• If the installer will not download, the client will not install, the server will not connect, or sign-in fails → continue

Escalate if:

• The user cannot download the correct client for their operating system
• The installer fails or will not launch
• The client cannot connect to viewportal.lakelandcollege.edu
• The user cannot sign in with their Lake Land credentials
• The expected VM lab does not appear after sign-in
